After a long day at work, running was the last thing I felt like doing. I even ended up taking a quick nap on the sofa, and when I woke up, I debated skipping it altogether. I think part of my reluctance came from the distance—I was a bit apprehensive about how long the run would be. But eventually, I pushed myself to get out there, even though it was later than planned.
Once I started, I settled into a steady pace and managed to maintain it throughout the run. Toward the end, though, I definitely felt low on energy, which reminded me how important proper fueling is before a run. Eating the right foods beforehand provides the energy your muscles need to perform and helps you avoid fatigue during longer sessions. It’s something I’ll need to plan better for in the future.
Although the run was on the slower side, it felt like a success, and I was really proud of myself for getting out there despite the rough start. Finishing it left me with a great sense of accomplishment!
