It was time to push the medium run up a notch, with an extra mile added to the distance. It didn’t sound like much, but I definitely felt it! The run got off to a rough start since I headed out later than planned, which immediately triggered a mental battle to finish early. By mile 2, I’d convinced myself to cut it short at 5 miles and tack on the remaining 2 miles to Wednesday’s run.
But as I hit mile 4, I had a little chat with myself. Future me would definitely be grateful if I just powered through and finished the full 7 miles today – so that’s exactly what I did. It wasn’t my fastest run, but speed wasn’t the goal. It’s all about the distance, and the extra time on my feet is what really counts. Tomorrow’s me is already saying “thank you” (and probably laughing).

Todays film quote:
“Well, thanks. Nice talking to you. Maybe we’ll bump into each other some time again in the future. – Or the past.”
