Today’s plan called for a slightly longer run, and I’ll admit – I was a bit apprehensive. An extra 25 to 30 minutes on my legs didn’t sound ideal, which led to plenty of procrastination and mental negotiations about pushing it to another day. But my schedule wasn’t budging, so I had no choice but to suck it up and get it done. Of course, all that delaying just meant I ran later than planned, which threw off my dinner and bedtime – lesson learned!
Once I got going, though, the run felt great, and I even felt like I could’ve gone farther. But I stuck to my adjusted plan of 7 miles, prioritizing smart recovery over pushing my limits. The discomfort is still there, but I’m managing it better, and it’s not really affecting my stride. Normally, I’d have a short run tomorrow, but time constraints mean it’s now a rest day – no complaints there! Managing an injury is just as important as the miles themselves, and giving my body the recovery it needs will only help in the long run.
