Today was a scheduled rest day, but instead of stressing about not being able to run, I focused on recovery and planning. If I can’t run, I can still train smart.
I spent time figuring out how to maintain my fitness through cross-training so that when I’m back on the roads, I’ll be in the best shape possible. Rowing and cycling will help keep my endurance up without the impact, whilst strength training – especially core work and lower-body exercises – will help build stability and prevent future injuries. Mobility and flexibility work will also be key in keeping everything moving well.
The goal is to come back stronger, not just wait for the injury to heal.
