Today was supposed to be a rowing session, but after finishing work later than planned, I ended up crashing on the sofa instead. At first, I was frustrated with myself for falling asleep, but I clearly needed the rest – sometimes, you have to listen to your body instead of being too hard on yourself.
Once I shook off the annoyance, I decided to make the most of it with a strength session, focusing on bodyweight exercises. I went through push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, dips, and, of course, finished with the dreaded burpees. It’s been a while since I’ve done a session like that, and it felt great to mix things up – even if the burpees nearly finished me off! Bodyweight exercises are underrated; they’re a great way to build strength, improve mobility, and add variety to training without needing any equipment. Something I will try and incorporate more often.
